AMERC

The Seminary is a member of the AMERC (Appalachian Ministries Educational Resources Center) consortium. AMERC provides specialized training for students preparing for ministry in Appalachian or similar settings, with particular attention to small rural congregations. Through three courses, on in January and two in the summer, Amerc provides students an opportunity to learn about the Appalachian region, its people and history, its culture and religion, and its needs and issues for ministry. Students study models of ministry now in use and those expected to be more effective in the future.
